Ronena J. Summers at AARP Life@50+, 2011

 

Ronena J. Summers, MSG, CPG is the founder of the Elder Resource Connection, an aging specialty and eldercare mediation service.  Her company is dedicated to providing comprehensive assistance to older adults and their families. As a Gerontologist and Certified Mediator, she specializes in resolving family conflicts arising from eldercare issues to restore and preserve relationships.

Ms. Summers embraces the philosophy that growing older does not automatically mean poor health and dependency.  She strives to aid older adults to form a link to community services. Ronena serves her community in church bereavement at her local church and is a Friendly Visitor for VITAS Innovative Hospice Care offering comfort and support during end of life care.  She was formerly a HICAP Counselor and a Long-Term Care Ombudsman.

Ronena actively networks with The Let’s Group®: Consulting and Consortium of Professional Gerontologists and CCGG: California Counsel on Gerontology and Geriatrics. She is a member of NAPG: National Association for Professional Gerontologists, and holds her CPG: Credentialed Professional Gerontologist.

Ms. Summers earned a Bachelor’s in Paralegal Studies and her Master’s in Gerontology from the University of La Verne.  She currently attends Mount St. Mary’s College in the MS Counseling Psychology, Marriage, Family Therapist Program, and is on-track to become a licensed psychotherapist specializing in geropsychology and grief recovery.
